Little Warty Gasteria (Gasteria 'Little Warty')

from $13.98

Gasteria ‘Little Warty’, commonly known as Little Warty Gasteria, is a compact, easy-care succulent prized for its thick, textured leaves and unusual appearance. ‘Little Warty’ is a cultivated hybrid derived from Gasteria species native to South Africa. It forms clusters of sturdy, tongue-shaped green leaves patterned with lighter green markings and distinctive raised white bumps, or “warts,” that give the plant its playful name. Slow growing and naturally compact, it typically reaches about 4–6 inches tall and 6–8 inches wide, gradually producing offsets that can develop into an attractive clump. Mature plants may produce slender flower stalks with small tubular flowers in shades of pink, coral, and green.

Gasteria ‘Little Warty’ grows well indoors or outdoors in bright, indirect light or gentle morning sun. It tolerates lower indoor light better than many succulents, making it an excellent choice for windowsills, desks, shelves, and small-space plant collections. Outdoors, protect it from intense afternoon sun, especially in hot desert climates. Plant in a fast-draining cactus and succulent soil and water thoroughly, then allow the soil to dry before watering again. Avoid keeping the roots continuously wet.

Best suited to approximately USDA Zones 10–11 outdoors, ‘Little Warty’ prefers warm conditions and should be protected from frost and prolonged temperatures below about 40°F. In colder climates, grow it in a container that can be brought indoors during winter.
